How to JoinWell, you finally made it to this page! Here, you'll find all the information you need to join this RPG. If there are any questions you need addressed, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] What kind of character can I play? You can play just about any kind of character you want. Pull your favorite character from your imagination. This isn't to say that you can't play pre-made characters, such as Sailor Moon, but try and think of something original. Be what you've always wanted to be, but make sure you'll be able to adapt and survive on Ileun. Note: Final Fantasy characters will be allowed, but only to a certain extent. This is an open RPG, not a Final Fantasy RPG. If you wish to play in a Final Fantasy RPG, there are plenty of them in existence. Final Fantasy-based characters will also be limited. Again, this is not a Final Fantasy RPG. Use your imagination and create something unique. Keep in mind that if I reject your character, that doesn't mean you have to create a new one from scratch. I'll send you ideas to change your character a bit, in order to make it more compatible with the RPG. Also, if there has been a major influx recently of characters from a certain series or video game and you submit a character from that series, you may be denied. This RPG is meant to have variety. How do I submit my character? All you need to do is send a simple e-mail including the following to [email protected] Subject Line: New Character - Character's Name Body of Message - Your Name: If you don't want to use your real name, feel free to put a pen name here. I plan on using the name you give me in this entry as your name for the Players List. Your E-mail: The e-mail address you wish me to use when sending out information. Character Information Race: You can be the traditional elf, human, dwarf, etc, if you want, or you can be something completely different. Feel free to create your own races, too Appearance: A good description of what your character looks like. Provide height, weight, eye, skin, and hair color, as well as the kinds of clothing this character normally wears. Paint a vivid and detailed picture here. If you have an actual picture of your character, feel free to include it as an attachment in the message. Equipment: You don't have to go into every little thing your character has. Provide some information on important items to your character. Family keepsakes that make the character more recognizable, magical items, weapons, armor, or anything else you can think to include should be explained here. In the case of magical and technological items, give a description of what the items are capable of. Abilities: What is your character capable of? Is it a psionicist who is a master of telepathy or just an acrobat who's taken to traveling? Provide information on magical, psionic, innate, technological, and mundane abilities here. You don't have to describe every last spell your character knows, just give a general idea, such as, "My character has magic power sufficient to cause a villager's hut to explode in flames." If the powers you give your character are too strong (i.e., no planet-destroying skills), then I will provide an explanation and give suggestions on how to tone the character down a bit. Personality: What does your character act like? Is it friendly, snotty, arrogant, sneaky, shy? This will give an idea on how your character would react in certain situations. This will also be a guide for me. If you play your character along a personality other than what you have submitted here, I will confront you about it. History: This is probably the most important section. Be very detailed and very concise here. Tell everything your character knows about its past and, most importantly, if the character is not native to Ileun, how it got there. Sorry, but for the most part, characters that have the "I don't remember anything about my past" syndrome won't cut it. Even those who are amnesiac have some knowledge of who they are, even if it is not about who they used to be. Also, the characters who used to be royalty or are royalty in disguise or are royalty and don't know it will be very limited. This has been done so many times before that it's not funny. I'm sure you all can come up with something better than that storyline. When will my submission be replied to? I'll respond as soon as I can. However, keep in mind that I have a real life, so I won't always be able to respond immediately to your submissions. I will respond, however, so bear with me if you don't hear anything for a while. I'm only human and can only handle so much at a time. What will I get in the reply? When I reply to your character submission (and I will), you'll either get an approval or a denial. Don't get all upset if I send you a denial. Along with the denial will be suggestions that I think will make your character more compatible with the RPG. Don't think, "Oh, he hates my character, so I'll never get in," because that's not true. If I send you a denial, it's because I think your character needs a few changes before being thrust into the world of Ileun. Even if your character is approved, don't be surprised to see some suggestions sent along with the approval. Usually, when I approve a character, I think it will do all right, but, as with denials, I'll make suggestions on how I believe the character will fit in better. In either case, whether or not you take my suggestions is entirely up to you. In character denials, you don't HAVE to take my suggestions. In fact, I'd rather you either didn't take them, or expanded on them, providing more depth and detail than what I give you. The same goes for approved characters. Remember, this is your character.
Now that you have a character, visit the Player Guidelines page Just a few more bits of information What if I need an NPC? If you need or want to use NPCs for the purpose of furthering your character's storyline, submit them in the same fashion as you submit a normal character. NPCs can be used in your main character's submissions or can be given a sort of "miniseries" if the NPC's path deviates from that of the main character. |
